I am relocating to the Austin area. When should I register with Peak Performers to be considered for active assignments?

Send us your resume and let our Recruiter know when you will be available for an in-person interview. We recommend scheduling a time as soon as you are in Austin and available to work.

Can you help me find a job if I am not disabled?

Yes. However, we want all applicants to be aware that we give a job preference to qualified applicants who have a disability and/or chronic medical condition.

How does your job placement work?

Customers contact us with job orders. We match registered applicants (who call or text in weekly as "available") with jobs that meet their availability, skills, and experience. Applicants with a disability are given job priority.

How soon can I start working?

This will depend on when we receive a job that matches your skills and work experience.

Do I have to pay to work with Peak Performers?

Peak Performers does not charge a fee to any job applicant—ever.

How long are assignments with Peak Performers?

The length of assignments varies according to our customers’ needs. We fill short-term and long-term temporary and contract assignments.

Does Peak Performers offer temp-to-perm, contract-to-hire, or permanent positions?

We do not offer temp-to-perm or contract-to-hire positions, but many of our assignments may be open simultaneously as a permanent opening. In these cases, we encourage the employee to apply directly with the government agency for open positions. As a non-profit staffing agency, we do not charge our customers a placement fee if they want to make an employee a permanent offer. This is a huge benefit to both our customers and our employees.

Why do you require applicants to test prior to placing them on an assignment?

Our applicants are tested so that we can accurately assess their skills and therefore make the best job match.

Does Peak Performers offer benefits?

As of January 1, 2015, Peak Performers offers partially employer-paid medical coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

Does Peak Performers only fill positions in Austin, Texas?

No. Currently, our Office and Professional staffing services work primarily with agencies located in Austin. Our IT staffing department, however, fills government positions all over Texas.

What companies does Peak Performers work with?

Our customers are government agencies, including both State and County agencies.

Do you work with individuals who have been convicted of a misdemeanor and/or felony?

Criminal background checks are performed on every temporary employee we put to work. We comply with State Agency policies in reference to whether an employee is eligible. Most of the positions we currently fill require a clean criminal background.

Do you hire employees on a corp-to-corp basis?

No. Peak Performers only hires individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States. We do not use subcontractors (corp-to-corp) or provide sponsorship for H1-B candidates.

What is the benefit of using Peak Performers over other staffing agencies?

Being a non-profit organization allows us to focus on making the best job matches for both the employee and the customer, rather than focusing on the dollars. Additionally, we are one of the few employers that gives job preference to applicants with disabilities, and we are the fastest and easiest route for most applicants to get a job with the State.
