Disability (Re)Defined
Working with Disabilities
Many people are reluctant to discuss their disability or medical condition in an employment situation for fear that potential employers will associate disability with limitation.
At Peak Performers, we recognize that disabilities have little to no bearing on an individual’s skills and capabilities. Our mission is to find jobs for qualified individuals, especially for those with a disability.
Setting a New Standard
If you’re a job seeker and you have been afraid of being discriminated against because of your disability, now is the time to put that fear behind you. In fact, at Peak Performers, your status as a person with a disability can actually put you at an advantage–-when we fill jobs, we give priority to qualified people who have a disability.
During our screening and application process, we will ask you whether you have a disability, chronic medical condition, or other physical limitations. The answer you give is 100% confidential. Moreover, once we have this information, we are better prepared to match you with jobs that suit your specific needs.
When you apply for a job with Peak Performers, you can be confident that there is someone in your corner who acknowledges your strengths and the value you add to the workplace.

Do you have a disability or chronic medical condition?
Many individuals don’t think of themselves as “disabled,” and yet they meet the criteria set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA).
At Peak Performers, we use these guidelines to determine whether an applicant has a qualifying disability or condition. We encourage you to consult these guidelines, as well as the accompanying list of examples of disabilities.
Passed in 2008, the ADAAA dramatically changed the way disabilities were previously determined under the ADA. The ADAAA granted “disability” a broader interpretation, and therefore expanded the number of people covered under the Act. Under the ADAAA, a person with qualifying conditions meets the following criteria:
Examples
Here are some examples of conditions that may be considered disabilities under the ADAAA.
